Ayodhya Railway Station is on Mughal Sarai-Lucknow broad gauge section of the Northern Railways. The station is located towards the south of the city. The important train connections include the Saket Express, Doon Express, Jammu Tawi Express, Ganga Yamuna Express, Saryu Yamuna Express and Sabarmati Express. Just 7 km west of the railway station is Faizabad Junction Railway Station.
There is a tourist information bureau near the station, managed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Private cabs and buses are available from the station to visit the local places. Pathik Niwas Saket Guest House, close to the station provides good accommodation facilities. Nearest airport is at Lucknow (134 km.)
